Terminal project

The civil work associated with the project is progressing really well. The car park kerb and channel work is complete and the area is almost ready for asphalting. All going well the new car park will become operational before the end of November

The pipes to haul the power upgrade in through are very close to reaching the terminal. This is an exciting stage for the project as the loads we had previously were very limiting for everyone on site. It will also see the removal of all but one overhead power poles. Water and sewerage underground work is also moving along quickly. A pump station will be installed near the vehicle access gate as part of this work. This will not affect access however please be mindful of workers and plant and equipment operating in the area as you enter and exit the airside area.

Due to cost escalation of core services, the remainder of the business park will not be delivered as part of this project. The airport team will be advocating for future funding to open up this area to attract aviation related businesses to the airport.

The new terminal building is going to provide an incredible first impression of Bendigo upon completion. Glass windows and doors have started to be installed. Internally there are frames for each room and services roughed in.

In the image below you'll get a glimpse of the check in area, with back of house operations out the back and offices to either side.

And this is the new foyer, where everyone will enter the new building once it's joined with stage 1 and operational.

Nicholson's are doing a great job to deliver the project and it's only a few months until they'll be finished.
